The Teen beet cancer challenge

The teen challenge is just a little bit easier than the full Beet Cancer Challenge. In previous years we have had whole families taking part. So we want to give you some guidelines for the younger challengers...

Teen Challenge 

For 2 weeks: 

 

NO white flour. Eat only brown, wholemeal. 

 

No sugar. Avoid sugar, food with added sugar. Fruit is okay. 

 

NO Palm Oil: A common additive in ready-made foods. Palm oil is as bad for us as it is for the environment. Other vegetable oils are good! 

 

Eat 5 x portions of fruit and veg per day: (80g per portion / 400g per day) 

 

Exercise: 1 hour of exercise, 4 times per week.  

As always, be sensible, stay healthy, and consult a doctor if you or your parents have any concerns before, during, or after the challenge. 

And don't forget to get SPONSORS! See if you can get friends and family to raise funds for cancer research.
